What this skill is
A crossword is a word puzzle where solvers read numbered definitions or picture clues and write matching vocabulary words into horizontal (Across) and vertical (Down) grid boxes. Each white box holds one letter. Intersecting words share letters, allowing solvers to use partial letter clues from across words to solve difficult down words during language arts lessons, reading comprehension, and spelling review.
