What this skill is
Missing minuend (_ - 4 = 8) and missing subtrahend (12 - _ = 8) equations teach inverse operations: add difference and subtrahend for minuends (_ = 8 + 4 = 12); subtract difference from minuend for subtrahends (_ = 12 - 8 = 4).
