About Customary Units
What this skill is
Customary units covers US standard measurement systems: length (inches, feet, yards, miles), weight (ounces, pounds, tons), and capacity (fluid ounces, cups, pints, quarts, gallons).
When children learn it
Customary unit conversions are taught in 3rd through 5th grade, aligned to 4.MD.A.1 and 5.MD.A.1.
